"Having bought an unmodernised and slightly run down semi detached house in 2012, we spent an enormous amount of time finding the best architect to carry out extensive extension and remodeling plans for our project.
With a fantastic plan in place for our dream home, with myself wishing to carry out various projects such as kitchen fitting and decoration, we sought a builder who was able to understand the architects plans, carry them out accurately, work with me and provide a competitive quotation and fulfil the build within budget and on time.
We sought quotations from various builders and construction companies, with Ray and Paul Rider coming out as favourable. Upon receiving a written quotation for the works we planned, I then took up references from neighbours that had had an extension done by Ray and Paul. They could not fault the work or their work ethic. I also visited another completed large extension in a nearby street, and again the owners were delighted. Their extension had included all fitting, decoration and finishing as they were elderly and all work was of an excellent standard. For my final piece of mind before engaging Ray and Paul, I took the liberty of talking to the local building inspector at Welwyn and Hatfield Council who, although not able to recommend or favour any particular builder, did at least assure me that all work and inspections concerning Ray and Paul were always of a high standard and that I certainly wouldn't have any problems if I employed them.
So the work started on the day we had agreed and they were on site by 07:30 every morning, working tirelessly every day, including some Saturdays if necessary. The build progressed at a rapid pace. Ray and Paul kept an organised and safe site, with other specialist trades such as electrics, plumbing and heating all installed and certificated as needed.
The house is now fantastic, everything works and looks as it was planned, and all the work was done to the highest standard. The building inspector signed off the extension and alterations without a problem. And all work was done within our time frame and on budget.
If anyone wishes to visit and see evidence of the construction carried out by Ray and Paul, we would be happy to show. I cannot recommend Ray and Paul highly enough, they are excellent reliable trustworthy builders and damn fine gentlemen."

"I would like to say that these builders (Father and Son Team who are well established in the Welwyn Hatfield Area) were recommended to me to build an extension on the house and I was absolutely delighted with the job they did.
I produced plans on which they gave an estimate for the job, I queried the estimate and they confirmed it as a Quote and I therefore asked them to do the works.
None of us want things to go wrong with such projects, but unfortunately they sometimes do, so I must say that I had every confidence in this team after I observed the way they rectified a damaged Gas and Water Main on day one of the job, with an immediate temporary fix, followed by a permanent fix within a couple of hours.
They Managed the whole project (including all Sub-Contractors) from start to finish and agreed proportional Payments at Key stages along the way together with a final payment on satisfactory completion.
They were flexible with minor alterations to the plans during the actual build and priced for any extra work I requested as the job continued (You sometimes see a better way as the build continues). They also made a few practical recommendations to improve finished build, which I am pleased to say I accepted as they improved the final build.
They cleared up at the end of each day leaving the site clean and tidy, and also ensured their sub-contractors did the same.
I think all of the above comments were reinforced when, during the final inspection for completion certificate, the local Authority building Inspector commented on the professionalism of the build and asked for a contact number as he had recently bought a plot of land and would like them to build his own house.
We have had nothing but favourable comments from people who have seen the new build particularly with the way it blends into the existing structure.
I have no interest in this company, other than as a customer. but would certainly use them again and have no hesitation in recommending them to others. Indeed I have already recommended them to three other friends enquiring about who built our extension."
